I have looked in my files and searched on here but can't find the answer to this. I have ran a single 595 for 3 years now and I am ready to expand to a second one. I have a large 5V supply to the first board and want to send the 5v out the first to the second 595. Is the RJ45 cable between them a straight through cable just like from the 595 to the SSR's?
 
Yes, you'd connect the output of the first 595 into the input of the second 595. You also should supply +5vdc power to the 2nd board, too. In your Vixen configuration, instead of an Olsen595 with 64 channels, you'd just raise it to 128.
 
you may actual be better to run a seperate 5v cable from the PS to the 2nd Grinch. the advantage of this config is the -ve line to remain closer to ground than otherwise.
