Fireworks Test

Here is a little video of some tests I ran with a fireworks model I built for our kids New years Party this year, fireworks without the hazard.

Still a work in progress but this was a hit this year, hope to just get it better from here.

All Credit goes to Lithgow Lights, he was the inspiration, really liked his and just had to try it. Here is the link to my inspiration

This thread may give you some ideas even though it is a little dated.

Lots of good construction tips here.

I have not written up the latest version that uses 1m strips with 12 segments.
6 branches with 4 spokes each for a total of 28 spokes.

I much prefer the wider angle 3 dimensional effect with multiple branches.

Love those. I have 3 porcupine balls to pick up at Cabella's to make ones similar to Combustionmarks from the academy.

I think they are awesome! the only thing that would improve on that would be some small strobes at the ends of each spoke to finalize the explosions a bit (dirk has the dirkcheap strobes which would fit the bill). Great job!
:v:

I might be able to just custom model the last few pixels on each spoke and sequence them to strobe at the end as well. Might have to play with that a bit, thanks for the idea!

Might have a sponsor to build a full scale display of these for this year, just pitched a large display 16 of these with various sizes up to 12' in diameter and 25' tall, they seemed pretty pumped about it, will see in the next little bit if they have the funds to put this into a large scale display!

You did a great job. I had hoped to get my "fireworks" up in a big tree this year.

On the strobe at the end idea, I was considering leaving my strips long on a few of them to dangle down from the ends so you could get more of the "decay" of a firework.

Good effort! I'm sure they'll be the hit you're hoping for.
