"Frosting" Clear plastic

I have had the larger version of these type of bulbs for years, now I am thinking that if i frost them, the defused light would look better.

Has anyone frosted the inside of something like this before? I could frost paint the outside, but judging by the current number of scratches on them now, I can only imagine how that paint will look after a season or two.

I have a faceted version of big bulbs like that. I'm in the process of frosting the insides of them. I would not do the outside.

That's exactly the same stuff I'm using. Though I paid $3.50 a can at menards for it. Spray paints thru amazon are always way overpriced.

It also cost $3.50 for me. An hour after I placed an order for 2 x cans (arriving today), it jumped in price. I guess I got lucky.

Thank you everyone for the input.

Back down to $3.96
