Inspiration for Christmas Day count down

My wife has benn great with my hobby. Now she want's me to build her a Christmas Day count down display. I have been everywhere for some ideal that i could get inspired. I would love to see if anyone has built anything tike this.

What did you use for the Count Down Numbers and did you use a Arduino to run it?

It was a pre-made piece. When you plugged it in, you had to set the current date and time. Then set the date and time you wanted the clock to count down to. It was already built and decorated for Christmas.
