quick question on those flake .. if using 100 ct how to you get from 1 side to the others ?? as most light have a 4 inch spacing ..do you have a close up picture from the back so i can understand how you did it .. or how big are the flake ??
thanks

I would say you could skip every other bulb on the way out to the end of the flake arm and then come back down the flake arm filling in the remaining holes to get back to the center then move to another flake arm

Here are the picture of the back unless you plan on doing huge flakes I don't see it being a problem reaching almost anywhere. My flake where 15" so the lights reached with easy I also used a 21/64 bit and once I painted the board and of course cleaned out the holes the lights stayed in no with out any help. Well here are the pics.

I see this is an old thread but maybe someone will see it and answer my question. How do you create a drilling template for a 15" snow flake. Also why are they painted black? I am thinking about hanging these above my garage doors so a black square would stick out hanging in front of red brick.

Check w/ James at BoscoyoStudio.com he as a variety of shapes and sizes of snowflakes, I know he makes most of his for pixels but he will also do them for minilights, He has the 24" snowflake listed but he should be able to make any of the sizes for miniligts, just have to ask. https://www.boscoyostudio.com/index...t=20a&page=2&zenid=hug5ceemaqcb4mbr42ctt70f52

If you are going to leave them as a square, guess you will have to decide if black or white would stand out worse.

I am just looking to use smoothice's patterns but I wondered how they printed it out since it is bigger than a standard printer.

I just marked mine out with a Sharpie. Draw your 6 or 8 main 'legs' then use consistent spacing from the center out (1", etc). Goes really quickly.
