Renard Plus TR-24 PIC programming problems

I have never programmed a PIC18F4520 before. I keep getting “Target device was not found (could not detect target voltage VDD). You must connect target device to PICkit 3”. I have used this setup before with PIC16F1825 chips. I changed the jumpers per the board. See pics below. Any ideas?

J2 J3 J4 J5 J6 J7 is that set on 1/2 or 2/3 should all be 2/3

Not sure. The adapter isn’t labeled. They were all the other direction for the PiC16F1825. So I moved them for this since it said 2-3

I am not sure since this has no listing for that chip that is why I suggest putting it back in board and doing it that way

So I just connect the PICkit 3 onto the program header. Where did you get that picture? From the assembly doc?

I have flash all 12 of my tr24 on the board itself.

DO NOT PLUGIN THE BOARD TO POWER

THE BOARD IS POWERED THRU THE CABLE, and should not be powered through the board

You have Pin 1 on the PickIt going to Pin 6 on the TR24. Turn the cable around on the TR24.

like dcamrom said you have it wired backwards the arrow on the pickit is wire 1

Switched the TR-24 end around still not communicating.
