Renards SS24 enable channels to a power level on power up by default instead of off.

not sure how to do that at the PIC level, but could you possibly do it with software? use some shortcuts or something to automatically launch sequence with 40% on? Or use a scheduler (i guess depends on what sequencer software you are using)

Piece of cake. Takes a little out-of-the-box thinking... Here's how you'd do it with Vixen 2.1 and Windows...

1. Create a 1 minute sequence, no audio.
2. Set all the tree's channels to the intensities you want it to have.
3. Save the sequence.
4. Open the Vixen Scheduler, select your new sequence
5. Set the scheduler to start on the date/time you want.
6. Set it to repeat until the time you want it to stop.
7. Set the recurrence to to the days/dates/months/etc. you want this schedule to run
8. Save the schedule and close Vixen.
9. Open the Windows scheduler.
10. Create a new Windows schedule to start Vixen about 5 minutes before you set it to start the sequence in the Vixen scheduler.
11. You may need permissions to do this so set up the user/password if necessary.
12. Save the schedule

Optional:

13. Reboot the computer and hit the F10 or F2 (or whatever key your computer requires) to get into CMOS as it boots up.
14. Set the computer to automatically boot itself up about 5 minutes before you set the Windows scheduler to start Vixen.
15. Save the CMOS settings.
16. Reboot the computer.

It goes without saying that the computer's clock needs also needs to have the correct time....

The above will start the computer, start Vixen and play your sequence continually until the Vixen scheduler tells it to stop. All unattended. That should be easy enough for your wife...
