Sandevices (E682) dimming?

Hey All,

Question about dimming and test pattern (E682).

If you set your 'Dimmer' on the Output Configuration page to, say, 25% and then go back to the Main Page to test and goto the "Test Pattern" tab and set it to "100% White" which setting controls the brightness?

Will the brightness be controlled by the 'Dimmer' or the "Test Pattern" setting or is it a combination of both?

You will get 100% of the 25% brightness. Anything you set on the outputs page is the ceiling in brightness for that port. So in this case you are only seeing 25% of the total brightness at a 100% signal from the controller or xlights. Another example would be if you set it to 50% in the test pattern with 25% setting on the output page you are going to get 12.5% brightness on the pixels.

Thanks gex598....that makes sense. I thought it might be a combination of the 2 but wasn't sure.
