Squirrel or neighbor with a grudge?

Definitely critters. I caught a squirrel on my camera chewing wires last year. Damage was identical to your photo.

I had issues with lights on the roof (squirrels) and cat 5 on the ground ( rabbits),. I put in temporary motion lights in the area and not a problem since.
 
They are at it in my yard as well, wife put a plastic zombie thing on the tree and they shredded it. Then she wrapped some lights around the tree and that lasted about 2 days. lol Chewed through several spots of the wiring, cheapo incans needed taken out anyways.

They used to love chewing our wires at our old house. always wonder if they ever got shocked. when doing it.
 
Still getting ready for this year's display and still repairing new squirrel damage. Shame I live downtown or I'd be having a good supply of squirrel gravy this year. [emoji23]
