A Couple of these:::

Each one is 5ft PVC, a Hula Hoop, 800 lights and 8 Channels. There are 5 Channels on the Hula Hoop and three for the pole.

This was a very inexpensive project that gave great results and was very easy to put together. My only suggestion is to mount the hula hoop at both the top and bottom so it keeps it's circle shape.

It was even cheaper with Dirks SSR's

I'll try and get a short video of it in action later tonight...

Here is some random testing... Sorry about the orientation of the camera... You'll have to look at it sideways :freak:

Nice, Dave! I like it! I fell out of the chair watching it, but I like it anyway!!! :lol:

That's the kind of thing we need more of -- creative use of common materials to create a terrific effect at low cost. Way to go!!!

The best part was the hula hoop contest we had before they were put together.... Yep still got it :thup:

That looks so cool! I wonder how fast that thing can chase circle!! :pragnie: I had to turn my laptop on it's side to get the full effect! lol :wow:

I did something similar combing a hoop with a spoke making a wagon wheel. They are 8 feet in the air and 6 feet in diameter.

The hoop is 6 feet in diameter and is made out of 1/2" thin wall pvc. I cut the hoop into 4 slices so that I could wrap the pvc easier, then I built and 'X' frame out of 3/4" sch 40 PVC with 3/4" to 1/2" tees. Each slice has 400 hundred lights split into 2 channels, I then bend/force the 1/2" pvc pipe in the 'X' frame. So far it is working out well.
