Hail Mary Question

My problem is that when I search for one, none come up. It looks like the website Renard Plus has a few things, but I'm not seing one for 12v DC.
For DC Renard, you would probably be looking for https://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/wiki/index.php?title=Renard_64XC or https://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/wiki/index.php?title=REN_32_Controller_Board as the controller and then you would have to use a DC ssr to connect your display items to. Here's the wiki page for that: https://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/wiki/index.php?title=DCSSR

The beauty of this type of setup (not all on one board) is that you could have 12v DC SSRs, 5v DC SSRs, AC SSRs etc. You can also mix and match (within limitations) to what you need.

Note that all of these solutions would probably require you to upload the gerber file to a pc fab house and order them. Sounds like its a pain but its really not too bad, just something to know.

It probably sounds like I'm pushing you in this direct but I'm really not trying to. I just think its good to know all the information you can before making the decision. I think its pretty cool that in this one thread multiple options have been presented. Each with their own merits.

Reading between the lines, I don't think that GoneFeral is favoring solutions that involve soldering or complicated wiring. Although expensive, I think that something this is more in line with what they would want. It's simple and self-contained, and at least one of the entecc plugins in Vixen should work with it.

The SS boards are AC-only. Could be that some of the Renard-Plus boards might work, but this is pure conjecture on my part.

@Goneferal If you decide on buying some DMX gear, beware of the wiring/connectors on the devices. For example, the linked controllers have both 3 wire connectors and 3 wire DMX connectors while the sending device P.Short linked has a 5 pin DMX output. Just something to be aware to make sure you get the correct control cables and connectors.

The dmx controller box and a USB to cable is working great! So much better than my old set up. I just loaded the dmx cable driver and set the output to dmx and zero problems, so far. I'm going to try running some schedules to see if it works. It seems much more stable that my old set up.

Congratulations on it working well.
I think it was a good decision to go DMX route because it is a widely used data transmission method across software and other hardware devices.
