Hello DIY people
Here goes started on this idea about 4 years ago and finally got all the bugs worked out of the form. Been though a bunch of errors, well lets say they worked but just were really tuff designs. I was looking for a display item to attach my lights that was not heavy and that I did not need a welding system. I did it and now it will soon be on a web sight in your neighbor hood.
The wireframe is made up of Aluminum segments and attached to a hub (The Eaton Puck) using set scews to clamp the frame elements together top and bottom. The segments are shaped into a star, sphere, diamond and bethlehem star. I have a bunch more designs on the drawing board that need to be worked out. I have completed a snowman and am about half way completed on a spider and pumpkin.
The cool part of the design is that it is interconnectable. An example would be the Snowman it is just a matter of connecting three spheres together with a arms and hat kit. The Snowman is about done just getting the Hat kit figured out. With the Eaton Pucks (normally takes two) the size of the decoration has very few limits. I have made up a 5 foot star. The inside bracing will need to be completed after 3 foot in aluminum gets a bit wibbly wobbaly.
The Eaton Puck, decoration segments and small parts are made from Aluminum and stainless so the decoration is very weather proof. My intention for the Eaton Puck was to make kits available so that you could pick and choose and lets say the next year in your display you wanted to change from Diamonds to Stars now all you would need to do is order the side forms saving some dollars. In the future I will be making the Eaton Pucks so now the shape could be made with your own ideas......
This is a new adventure for me and I hope you like it.
This is the sight I will be working with Christmas-leds.com and the decoration should be up in the next couple of weeks.
If you have any questions PM me or ask here
Thanks
