I have been absent for few years and just made a post. I wanted to edit it, but there's no edit or delete link. What's going on?
 
as per the announcement of the site admin yesterday, I guess this site is officially winding down now. Very sad.

so many ideas posted in this thread, that no one was able to act on due to lack of admin participation.
 
What involved in transferring ownership of this site to allow continued access.There might be an interest in turning over the reins to fresh hands.

I agree, if you could share the size of the site (database size) and traffic information, I am sure someone could lend a server.

Yes, if anyone actually wants to take this over or thinks they have a way to keep it going, contact the admin directly. I don’t believe he reads these forms anymore.

Or emails. I believe many have tried to reach out but no response. Sad indeed
 
I have contacted macrosill if he would be interested in turning the site over.

I have also been in touch with my brother-in-law and he says the domain is registered until 12jun2030 but that doesn't mean that the data won't be lost if the hosting fees lapse
 
I have a hosting package and using maybe 1% of its potential.
I would be more than happy to host this site if the traffic/data size doesn't exceed what's included in my package.
 
Still no contact from Brian. I need to find out what forum product he uses to run the site. Is there a license to use it. Whether it is Linux or Windows server and specs. Will he give access to his server to move files to another if needed?
Right now I am at a disadvantage as my supporting membership has expired and he is not granting my support donation to continue subscription.
 
No surprise. He's never responded to my pm's either. The only time he responds is when I text him, but I'm very reluctant to give out his phone number.
 
I've already resurrected the entire DoItYourselfChristmas Wiki from the Wayback Machine's website. The link is located top and center of the new revamped DIYChristmas Wiki. The entire site is running pretty slow right now, given how hard I just hammered that Wiki with hundreds of page creations and API requests.😂
 
I can't access diychristmas.org right now (12 noon August 7 through comcast), "503 Service Unavaiable".

Is this a foreshadowing of what’s going to happen? Not accepting donations, he really wants the site to die.
