Wall Washers
Used under overhangs, or any where you would like RGB light spread over a large area. There are many types and varieties out there to all allow you to do this. Some can be bought assembled, some are DIY. Here is the List.
Floodlights

Used any place you want to shine a large area with RGB light. Commonly used to up light trees and the sides of buildings. They are available either in kit form or premade.
Here is a list.
RGB Strings
![]()
RGB strings can come in three basic types:
- "Super strings" - a collection of three individual colored strings (1Red, 1Green, 1 Blue) wrapped together. The colors do not mix to form other colors, but are used to give the three primary colors as effects.
- Dumb RGB Strings - a string of RGB LEDs that can be adjusted to any color by using a dc controller to control the string. Dumb strings can only change all of the LEDs at once, they can not be individually controlled
- Intelligent RGB Strings "Pixels" - a string of RGB LEDs each with a built in control chip that allow unlimited color mixing and individual control. They need to be controlled by a Pixel Controller.
RGB Strip
RGB Strips come in two basic types:
- Dumb RGB Strips - a strip of RGB LEDs that can be adjusted to any color by using a dc controller to control the strip. Dumb strips can only change all of the LEDs at once, they can not be individually controlled. They come with several different types of waterproofing
- Intelligent RGB Strips "Pixels" - a strip of RGB LEDs each with a built in control chip that allow unlimited color mixing and individual control. They need to be controlled by a Pixel Controller.
Modules
![]()
Both Dumb RGB and Intelligent RGB Modules are available. A module is a waterproof PCB that has multiple RGB leds mounted on the PCB. The PCBs are connected together with wire like a string. Modules are brighter then strip or strings due to the multiple LEDs per module.
