The parts list for all versions of the SSROZ are common, except for the fuse holder used on the PCB.  I have designed two different boards (as detailed above); one for the US market using the Mouser Vertical Fuse holder, and one for the Australian Market using a Jaycar Vertical Fuse holder.  Either fuse holder can be used on either board, you will just need to bend the pins of the Fuse Hodler in or out 85 mils if you have the alternate board to the fuse holder you purchased. This is not a big issue, however feedback i received from users said that they would prefer not to bend the fuse holder pins. Hence the two variants; 25.c and 2.5d.

Background

I was a late starter to the CC.com website last year and missed out on Sean Bowf's COOP for SSRs and decided that I would go ahead and make some of my own. This SSR design is a result of collaboration with Sean in January and February 2007, making sure that this design follows the guidance for SSRs as published on www.simpleIO.com and my calculations and testing.

The SSROZ design is currently in it's 5th iteration.

Prototype SSROZ 2.5a

Version History

The first design, SSROZ, was modelled after Sean's COOP board, 2.5.

SSROZ 2.5a, was the first. This is a single side board, 2.2 x 2.0 inches, dated Jan 2007. A small production batch were made and distributed in Australia.

SSROZ 2.5b, a minor change to fix the mounting hole issue identified on 2.5a, and change the Fuse holder to a JAYCAR part #, with 400 mils pins. Gate Resistor details included on the PCB.

SSROA 2.5c, Main production run, based on 2.5b. JAYCAR vertical fuse holder, 400 mil pins. White silkscreen are non-ROHS, Yellow silkscreen are ROHS. This board is designed for the AUS Market.

SSROZ 2.5d, Main Production run, based on 2.5b. Mouser vertical fuse holder, 315 mil pins. Yellow silkscreen are ROHS are now standard. Boards are marked 2.5d and dated 21 Jun 2007. This board is designed for the US Market.

SSROZ 2.5e, Main Production run, based on 2.5b. Will take with the JAYCAR or Mouser vertical fuse holder, 400 and 315 mil pins. Yellow silkscreen are ROHS are now standard. Boards are marked 2.5e and dated 17 Dec 2007. This board is designed for the AUS/US Markets and replaces both the 2.5c and d version boards.

The PCB is available from wjohn on the Forum.
