Starting in version 16K, the HLS data can be stored in a separate folder from the HLS application.

Create the new data location:

  1. Determine the location you wish to store HLS data files. Examples would include an HLS folder inside the Documents folder, an external drive, etc.
  2. Copy the entire existing HLS folder to the new location.
  3. Change the name of the new folder to something other than HLS, such as HLS_DATA.

Cleanup the HLS folder:

  1. Inside the original HLS folder, delete the following folders:
    1. All sequence folders
    2. DimmingCurves
    3. ExportIFiles
    4. Library
    5. NutCracker
  • IMPORTANT: Leave HLS.exe and all dll files in this folder!

Cleanup the new HLS_DATA folder:

  1. Delete HLS.exe and all dll files
  • This folder will now only contain data.

Configure HLS to use the new data folder:

  1. Start HLS but DO NOT OPEN a sequence.
  2. Under the FILE menu --- select Use an HLS MAIN Folder other than where the Application Resides.
  3. HLS will provide a couple prompts to make sure you are sure of what you are doing.
  4. Navigate and select the new HLS data folder.
  5. Close and reopen HLS to begin using the new data folder location.
  • Note: The quick open menu will be empty since the locations of files has changed.
