This pixel stuff seems to have a bottomless barrel of information that needs to be considered. One thing that seems to be certain is that it's expensive to do much more than a string or two.
I've been searching the web for a source of chips used in these pixels, and except for a very few common ones, they don't seem to be available to the common person. I've found the 2801 in a few places, and although not a real individual pixel controller chip, the Max7219/21.
I'd like to play around with these, but it seems the only way to do this is purchase the pre-made strings.
I'm still lost in the E680/E681/all the other controller stuff but I'll get through that since it seems to be all done for me.
What I'd like to see is a helping hand to some links that explain how a lot of this might be done, either the common way most people do this or a way to start making my own pixels. I've searched the forum here, but there's so much as most people do it "my way" and it's a little hard to digest all they've described. Some of those megatrees are absolutely amazing.
Thanks for any help.
