Here's a few pictures of the start of my trolley build. Trolley will be appox 10" wide by 24" long (height to be determined). The motor, sprocket and chain are from a scooter. Used 3x4", 1x2" box steel and some flat stock. Wheels are from a rollerskate, guide wheels are from casters. Motor will run at 5vdc - although this is yet to be determined. Will use pick-ups for power.

Dan The pick ups for the train did not work for me thes now made havoc with the pick ups but if you would like some springs and some bras pickups I will give them 2 you all u need to pay is the shipping

After seening Chuck's trolley at epic, I realized mine was just a little too short, so I extened the frame to roughly 40" long. 10" wide. Completed a lot of body work this weekend.
End caps, sides and roof supports.

Dan,

You are just amazing! That trolley is absolutely beautiful. You're welcome to the wiper motors from all the cars in my neighborhood anytime pal.

Jeff

Dan,

I take it you live in an area that does not normally encounter snow/icy conditions during the winter months, or do you think the weight of the trolley itself will provide enough friction overcome any slipping?

It's all good. I just bought a new snow blower. It wont snow in New Jersey for the next 5 years...

Jeff

Wow. Those gingerbread men look so good inside the trolley that I almost thought it was a print adhered to a "fake" window. Looks amazing, Dano! Crossing sign is a nice touch too.
