For anyone looking at 3D printers here is a take using different technology. Certainly much more expensive than RepRap etc, but the detail is absolutely awesome.
9 1/2" tall models, 100 Micron resolution, or smaller build volume with 37 Micron resolution.
They use a HD DLP projecter to harden layers of resin into the model. The resin hardens at certain wavelengths of exposure.

They needed $50K in funding, and hit that goal in 2 minutes. They are almost at $550K funding now.

Also, look at the samples where they have a human hair in the model. Really shows the resolution off.
