Missing overcoat

Going through my SSRs replacing all the triacs and ran across this:


Do I need to worry about this or get an overcoat pen and repair it?

you need to solder a wire over that. if not, you will have dead channel just as the whole family is watching the show.

Coating is just a protection from you shorting to another trace. Looks like the trace is still there and intact so nothing required, but I’ve used a little super glue to seal/protect in the past

In our environment the coating also provides protection from moisture. That area is now open for corrosion. SuperGlue will work.

Nail polish also works. Any color will do.... as will clear....

I caution the color nail polish. Today’s product may have color pigment containing electrical carrying property. Clear should be ok

Or just use liquid electrical tape.

Would conformal coating work as well?
I use the acrylic type from MG chemicals on new boards, just brush it on.

I would be cautious w/ liquid electric tape. I am not sure it would make as good of a seal to the board as nail polish or super glue would.

Or just use liquid electrical tape.
