Motor for 8 foot Ferris wheel

Happy new year to all. Can someone please tell me what hp motor i would use on an 8 foot Ferris wheel and where I can buy it. I am new to this site and am just getting started with making motorized displays since I finally retired.

I am going to make a 10' one out of PVC I am useing a wipre motor the trick I found was bearins off ebay for the main center pipe to sit on.

Please give some more details about your Ferris wheel. If you are making one of PVC, a wiper motor should be good enough. They can be had from MonsterGuts or just about any junk yard. Keep in mind, you want a "continuous duty" motor, whatever you choose. You can control speed by sprocket/pulley ratios or by controlling DC voltage. For an AC motor, you will need a motor controller.
You might want to look at the one I built at strrchristmas Christmas Ferris Wheel on YouTube. I made that video to give people ideas. This is how I did it, not the way it HAS to be done.
