My external clock has failed on my renard 64, what is a good setting for the clock and baud rate for the internal oscillator?

I think it will run at 19.2 w/o the oscillator with RS-232 - I don't think 57K or 115K will work without it. If you can switch to DMX (250K), you can use the 8 Mhz internal oscillator.

I believe you can get 38400 baud out of it with the crystal set at 8mhz. But that's about it. You can drop in a pic16F1825 instead and use the internal crystal and still get normal performance, and you need the 1825's firmware as well.

Reducing the clock speed can cause some artifacts if you go too low. The CPU is using a large percentage of the computing power and reducing the Osc frequency can put ou into a situation where the CPU cannot keep up with the processing demands.

The biggest issue, I think, is that of baudrate inaccuracy at 57600 baud using the internal clock.
