Quick suggestion:
The status bar at the bottom displays the current workgroup. Could the current "Select Display Group to Work On" dialog pop up if we click on it? If we RIGHT click on it, could a pop up menu pop up with direct access to maybe the last 10 work groups used or similar?
Just an idea to help flip from workgroup to workgroup a bit easier.
