Vixen, servos light etc

Depending on what you want to do you might want to consider using 2.x and the 3dObjectSuite. The only issue I can see is getting Vixen to talk to that server controller(I don't know the protocol it uses). If it's something that can use an available protocol it might save you some time.

Here's some example of what I did years back....http://halloween.maloneylights.com/category/videos/

Hi Chris I’ve been looking at the jaw sequencer this evening on 2.1, seems to be going ok, as for the protocol, I haven’t received the board yet so I haven’t had chance to look into it in great detail but from what I’ve read it uses the i2c protocol and I’m guessing it can be used as a generic serial? Here’s the board

Color organ is like a spectrum analyzer except it outputs the intensity to a light. Take the audio band and break it into three groups, Pass them through a filter and extract the peak intensity, convert the intensity into a light level. My implementation supports 32 bands (they can overlap) to drive the intensity value for 32 channels.

I just want to make sure you have the right version of the addin. I think that jaw sequencer link had the old one. It should be this one. http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?22358-3d-Object-Suite&highlight=object+suite

Brilliant bit of kit Chris, stuck in a dilemma now as I’ve got mixed sequences for Xmas and Halloween, Xmas I’ve done 4 so far in vixen 3 and I’m on my 3rd one in vixen 2.1 for Halloween

I will add a big "Positive Plug" for Chris's plugin, it works brilliantly, even when imported into xLights for playout, see :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlbAJ2HyWiQ

I used his Audacity conversion to get the mouth movement, all the rest was done "live", channel, by channel, watching the results on the prop during playback and making adjustments as required.

I don't use Vixen 3 but I believe you can import Vixen 2 into it. You might be able to use Vixen 2 for sequencing the servo stuff then import it into Vixen 3 to do the rest.

Thanks guys, great advice and guidance from all so far, really looking forward to getting things done for Halloween and Xmas

V3 has built in lip sync software that converts text to phenoms and then maps the phenoms to channels. You still need to manually sync the phenoms to the music.

Chris how do you get your levels to look like they do in your video? Mine are different fades and not vertical bars
