The last Halloween I decided I needed yet another kid friendly prop to add to my singing pumpkins show. After reading about crank ghosts I built this glow in the dark (via black light) dancing skeleton. His motor and blacklight were controlled via DMX. The motor controller was variable speed so his dancing was in sync with the music. I designed the motor controller from scratch and used an old PC power supply for 12V to power the motor.
The photos are pretty self explanatory. What you can't see is the automotive windshield wiper motor (above) and the new fasteners in the skeletons joints. When I purchased the skeleton he had rivets which didn't allow for much movement. I removed the rivets and used threaded rivets (they screw together) from the hardware store.
I used this site as my guide: http://www.scary-terry.com/dancskele/dancskele.htm
Enjoy.
