More than 250 Vixen sequences now available

For the past few weeks I have been working on converting all the sequences from lorsequences.com to Vixen. I've finished the conversion and have made all the sequences available on my site. View and download them on under my 'Share Sequences' menu item.

That brings the total number of Vixen sequences I have available to more than 250.

I'd say I was able to convert about 90% of the sequences from lorsequences.com. The other 10% were rejected mainly because I couldn't figure out the source of the audio.

If you have sequences you care to share, please feel free to upload them. I do my best to have them posted within 24 hours.

You're telling me!

I'm not happy with how the duplicates present themselves, so I am in the process of updating the titles, first with the artist name, and then with the sequence creator's name.
 
'House on Christmas Street' is still an .lms file.

Anyway you could make this a list so each sequences data is spread out horizontally? The information that is displayed after you click the first time is the most useful. Place the column labels at the top, maybe fixed at the top so it won't move when vertically scrolled, and all of the songs shown below taking up just one row.

This way it would be easier to see which artist, number of channels, etc., a sequence is for. This list would just take the place of the current first view of the sequences.

That's exactly how I would do it if I was writing the software. Unfortunately, I'm using canned software to serve up the files, so there is no easy way.

I could make each song a category, but that is a bit too clunky.

The other problem is that most of the sequence data is just a text cut and paste from the LORSequences site. All that nice data that looks like it is divided into fields is actually just text.


Edit: OOPS! I just saw the part about house on Christmas Street! This morning I'll double check all the files to make sure I uploaded the VIX and not the LMS.
Edit2: Ok, all set. There were 6 or 7 files total that I needed to fix. Apparently I forgot to convert a whole set of files. Must have been late. :)

Thanks for sharing. Impressive list. Great resource. I used one of your sequences this year as starting points...with only 2 hours of mods...looks great. This saved me a ton of time. Thanks again.
 
Is there a way to sort these sequences by the number of channels? For example, how can I select those that are set up for 64 or fewer channels?

I am new to this forum so I apologize if this has been answered before.

I believe the answer is currently no because the software that he is using doesn't allow him any control over what you are seeing now.

I also think that the site would be more useful if it allowed more discretionary downloading. This service is offered free by Mike but if money started floating his way, I'm pretty sure this could be changed.:D
 
I am looking for a Vixen sequence (2.1) I have the music. The title is "Lets get this season started". If any one has a copy they would share sure would appreciate it.
 
Thank you for providing this. Of all the assistance I've gotten on this forum (which is a lot), this is probably the most appreciated. I've had a hard time getting into the sequencing groove, and this allowed me to modify some and also to see how others sequence certain songs.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong i get thsi msg when i try and open the .vix file in vixen
 
It looks to be corrupt - I tried opening it with my editor and it blew up with that as well. There is no event data in the sequence. This sometimes happens with the conversions. You might try looking it up at lorsequences.com and retry converting it with the LOR2VIX program posted somewhere here. If you find it, I can try opening it with my LOR SW to see if it's OK there.
 
Tested it, and also received the same errors using Vixen2.1.
It looks like that sequence was created in the older Vixen v1, and that could be causing those errors.

Here's the sequence converted for running in Vixen 2.1.

Hi all I am getting a similar error to above for the "Michael Myers (Theme from Halloween)"

If opening up the file in vixen v1 and saving it off to a different version works could somebody point me in the right directions.
