SSR's explained

Very important point that should be noted in your illustration!!!

The 'tab' that connects the 'hot' side of the outlets needs to be broken off.
It is made to be bent back and forth for removal.

Once that is done, I think it would be an excellent addition to the wiki.

Let me know if you need me to add it.

Thanks for the answer to my "how to wire it up" question.
I tried to log in/create an account and could not.
You are more than welcome to post the picture on the wiki if you
think it will help someone.

I changed the picture to point out removal of the tab.

To: Sparkey and all newbies,

Remember you can also use the SSR in "The Pod" configuration. Still same concept for the wiring but doesn't limit you to buying this type of hardware. The Pod would simply use your SSR in an enclosure with a power cord supplying power and 4 extension cords with female ends hanging out.

For example of POD config. see page 1 of this thread.

He did mention this between the 4th and 5th pictures.
You must break off the jumper tab on the "hot" side of the outlets so you have 4 separate outlets

By default, you will not have access to modify the Wiki. Contact Brian (Macrosill) and ask if you can be added.

Another question: what does the control input to a dimming SSR look like? If I have a 0-5V PWM output, would it be a simple matter to control an SSR with that, or would I need signal transmogrification of some sort? Or is there a better solution to converting 0-5V PWM to dimming light control? Thanks.

Can someone please tell me what the difference between an SSRez and an SSRoz board is? Or where to find descriptions of the boards?

Thanks

Frank

Not a great deal of difference, but I have both so I'll try...

The SSRez is the newer and has some differences that I think are most important:
1. Mounts perfectly in our coming enclosure (TA-200)
2. Has on-board neutrals so it removes need for tieing neuturals together with a WireNut
3. It's a bit larger than the SSRoz.

There are probably others, but this is my experience.

The wiki contains info on both of them.
