Wrapping Real Tree Trunks

I'm trying to figure out what to wrap my tree trunks with LED wise and what the easiest method would be. The question being around, what type of addressable pixels to use? I see all these displays with people wrapping their tree trunks in their yards but I'm not sure what they're using. Strips of WS2811 LEDS? Net Pixels? Does anyone have any idea?

I use to use WS2811 square pixels but switched to bullet pixels and they look pretty good. The bullets "stick" out from the bark. I nave 6 reallybig oak trees. On the front trees i go up the ranches.
The square pixels allowed water to enter between the silicone and the epoxy, which caused failures. Gave up on them in my entire display.
