Broadcasting music when your show is not playing

You probably realize that while you have an FM transmitter to send out music for your Christmas light show, you can also use this transmitter to broadcast music during the time your show is not playing.

The method documented here allows you to take advantage of music that is streamed over the internet, and rebroadcast that over your FM transmitter (radio station).

This is completely free and the use of this music is legal. Nothing is being pirated.

Why would I want an FM Transmitter?

Many DIYC'ers sequence their shows to music. This allows people who stop and watch the blinky/flashy to enjoy the music as well. Vixen supports sequencing to music.

How do I choose a frequency?

Visit this website:

Antenna Designs

A great companion to a low-power FM transmitter is an efficient antenna. Many DIY'ers have built dipole antennas because they're inexpensive and very efficient. For information on how to build one, click here: How to make a dipole antenna‎.
